HK Army's SoCal Rock Revolution

We kicked off the day at Irvine Lake with a party in the HK Army bus. We anticipated a huge turnout for this event, so the whole crew made it out. The doors opened and kids came flooding in. The SoCal Rock Revolution was off to a good start.

We partied in the bus until we ran out of booze. Marky set up our Mackie speakers outside the bus and within a few seconds a dance party emerged. I mean… what can you expect when you mix a bus, alcohol, loud music, and a ton of fans.

Time flew by and before we knew it, our sponsored bands were up on the main stage. Sky Diamond City, out of Los Angeles, was our first band performing. These guys are amazing and definitely someone to keep an eye out for. They are doing big things and gaining exposure quickly. They rallied up a huge crowd and had a great performance. We had the HK Army logo, skull and crossbones, on the main stage. So we got some epic video footage. Check them out at Myspace.com/SkyDiamondCity

Bullets and Octane were up next. These guys are a large band out of Southern California. They have done major tours with Avenged Sevenfold, Flogging Molly and Social Distortion. Their performance was real solid at the SoCal Rock Revolution and repped HK hard.

Escape the Fate mobbed the stage after Bullets and Octane. They had a massive crowd for their set. They even pulled off the infamous, “wall of death.” It was by far one of the most energetic sets. Craig, the lead singer of Escape the Fate, was sporting the Boz.

Last but not least, we had our headlining band, Story of the Year, finish up the night. These guys are literally performing acrobatics while playing their instruments on stage. It is incredible. The lead singer, Dan Marsala, attempted a back flip, but completely tweaked and rolled his ankle. Within minutes a giant cankle formed and he could barely move around anymore. It was a noble attempt, but unfortunately he failed miserably.

SoCal Rock Revolution was a success overall. We had a lot of fun and it was great working with KROQ, Rockstar and Sullen. All our bands did extremely well and we are looking forward to the next event.
